This is a small example of some of the rotted and aged poles we find ourselves increasingly surrrounded by in the field. It's more like a jungle. You need to be increasingly careful to avoid hazards like this terribly dry pole. Sometimes when you climb these old poles using hooks - a peice of the pole will come off on your hook - a very dangerous condition to be in!!

There are so many of these old and dangerous poles out there that the Public Utilities Commission is actually moving to pressure PG&E - the owner of many of the poles - to mount a massive replacement campaign; or face penalties.

Replace the Pole- No Known Hazards!!!
